It is an important task for students to improve the ability of appreciating classical poems in Chinese teaching in senior high school. It is also one of the hot issues concerned in university entrance examinations. People still get used to understanding the inside meanings. What they are fond of now is still not scientific analyses or regular patterns of the poems but perceptual accumulation.There are two modes of thinking. One is abstract thought and the other is image thought, which can't be totally separated. As is known to all, poetry is a kind of art closely related with language. Language is a vital tool which can help people to write or appreciate poems. Because language is usually abstract, both abstract and image thoughts take very important parts in producing or appreciating poems.As is mentioned in the essay, there is a logical relationship between words and between sentences as well. In order to improve and enhance students'ability and interest, it is necessary to analyze the poem. It is of great help for students to understand the poem and know how it was written. The essay includes the following parts:The first section is about the conception and words. We should know that words are the base of understanding. By learning its writing skills and realizing its delicate differences between the conception and words, we can get a good way of using words in writing. All in all, image and metaphor are the transformation of the word.Secondly, it is about judgement and inference. It is because of inference that we explain a poem in different ways. Moreover, it is a good and basic way to avoid misunderstanding the poem by inference. It can also help us find the hiding meanings in it.The all kinds of complex judgements and inference are stated in the third part. They generalize a variety of changes between words or between sentences. It is the reason why classical poems have profound meanings. They may be understood differently under different circumstances. Mastering the usages of them, we can't be lost in the air of the words.The basic logical regulation comes to the next. It mainly sets out the basic regulation of human's thought. It is decided by the poet whether to obey the regulation or not so that he can express a real, strange or obscure mood.Last but not least, it is about conclusion, analogy and demonstration. The article elaborates the different understandings to life, society and history included in the classical poems. After all, conclusion, analogy and demonstration are the effective methods.
