Eysenck argued that positive attitudes towards religion would be associated with low extraversion or low psychoticism.Western researchers have paid more and more attention to the relationships among religious behavior,attitude toward religion and personality.The present study tried to discuss the relationships among personality,attitude toward Buddhism and Buddhist behavior.The study contains three sub-studies.In study 1,A Buddhist behavior scale was administrated to explore a specialized Buddhist behavior measure tool for Chinese.This scale contains tow sub scales named social Buddhist behavior and personal Buddhist behavior respectively.General scale's Cronbach ct is 0.903,two sub-scales' Cronbachαare 0.836(social Buddhist behavior),0.871(personal Buddhist behavior);the scale has relatively good structure validity:NFI=0.965,RFI=0.949,IFI=0.977,TLI=0.966,CFI=0.977, RMSEA=0.075.In study 2,The Scale of attitude toward Buddhism was administrated to explore a specialized Buddhist attitude measure tool for Chinese.This scale contains two sub scales named faith's meaning and believing Buddha's existing respectively.General scale's Cronbachαis 0.833,two sub-scales' Cronbachαare 0.843 (faith's meaning),0.683(believing Buddha's existing);the scale has relatively good structure validity:NFI =0.965,RFI=0.943,IFI=0.978,TLI=0.964,CFI=0.978,RMSEA=0.068.In study 3,a composite questionnaire composed of Buddhist behavior scale,the Scale of attitude toward Buddhism and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ) was administrated for 399 Buddhists to discuss the relationships among personality,attitude toward Buddhism arid Buddhist behavior.The results are as follows:(1)Psychoticism and neuroticism have significant negative correlation with group Buddhist behavior,individual Buddhist behavior,attitude toward Buddhism;introversion-extraversion and lie have significant positive correlation with group Buddhist behavior,individual Buddhist behavior,attitude toward Buddhism;(2) lie has direct positive effect on group Buddhist behavior and individual Buddhist behavior, psychoticism and introversion-extraversion have no direct effect on group Buddhist behavior and individual Buddhist behavior;(3) attitude toward Buddhism has positive effect on group Buddhist behavior and individual Buddhist behavior;(4) psychoticism and lie have indirect effect on group Buddhist behavior and individual Buddhist behavior through attitude toward Buddhism.
