Gu Poetry

Gukuang was an important poet who lived in the middle of Tang Dynasty. More than two hundred poems have been left so far. He certainly deserves further study.In this thesis, the author intends to deal with three aspects of Gukuang, and the thesis consists of three parts.In chapter One, based on historical materials and Gukuang's poems, the author has tried to tackle some puzzles such as Gukuang's date of birth, the day he died and his native place. Chapter Two focuses on the ideas and individualities of Gukuang, including his ideas of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism. In the last chapter, the author has conducted some analyses on the artistic features of Gukuang's poems, given an integrated outline of Gukuang's creations, and tried to analyze his influence on the literary community in the middle Tang Dynasty.
