Abstract/Summary:
In the late 19th century and early 20th century, since the ancient Chinese Opium War opened the door closed after the Western scientific, economic, political and religious, have poured into my study of art. Chinese social crisis made many people find ways to save our country, Aesthetic Education is the one that they found. Between this special time, the people were too many who saved our social, our education and our revolution through aesthetic education. From Liang Qichao,Wang Guowei to Cai Yuanpei,Wu Mengfei,Tao Xingzhi,Feng Zikai, all of them brought forward their aesthetic educational theories and led a lot of activities, this actively embodied the familiarity of aesthetic education at that time, left behind abundant and accurate aesthetic educational experience.Liang Qichao, the famous political thinkers, is the earliest initiator. At the end of Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, Wang Guowei, the famous scholar, first introduced the concept of aesthetic education from the West. He thought that aesthetic education was an important part of education on training the student to become a complete developed person. Cai Yuanpei, the democratic revolutionist in Modern China, first made aesthetic education as the country's educational policy. Round about the May 4th Movement many aesthetes and thinker had discussed the problem of aesthetic education from the different angles and aspects. From the nation's fate and future, Tao Xingzhi and Feng Zikai had analyzed and probed into the use and the value of aesthetic education, so as to expand the study scope of aesthetic education. There aesthetic educationl thought experienced a progress of systematizing and deepening, and showed centripetal force and the cohesive force of anti-imperialist and anti-feudal which is the main trend of the times. And this experience is embodied on how to implement aesthetic education. The educationists of that time had searched on it consciously, brought forward many good ideas, so that it can guarantee the aesthetic education's popularity. This thesis summarized and analyzed the represented aesthetic educational thought in Modern China. As for its significance, these thoughts had made far-ranging influence in those days. And in the contemporary era, it can also enlighten us and can be used for reference.
