The Mongolian nationality has a long history and a splendid culture. Particularly, its headwear culture is featured with ethnic characteristics and still has high aesthetic value. The thesis mainly studies on Kerqin Mongolian headwear. Kerqin Mongolian females' headwear has distinct regional and tribal features. The Mongolian nationality has long lived in the wide grasslands, and each tribe inhabiting a specific area has developed its distinctive wardrobe style. Representative tribes include Baerhu, Buriat, Kerke, Kerqin, Ordos, Alashan and Tuerhute, etc. Due to the limitation of length and the expectable difficulty in data collection, the thesis only takes Kerqin Mongolian headwear, which has unique regional features in design, workmanship and ornamentation, as the subject for study. As time goes by, a nationality's psychology of aesthetics also changes. The formation of people's psychology of aesthetics is also subject to influence of the geographical environment and the social lives. The Kerqin Mongolian headwear, as a reflection of Mongolian females' psychology of aesthetics, is naturally affected by factors such as geographical environment, the social lives, the economical development and the cultural exchange. Along with the social and economic development, Kerqin Mongolian females' headwear incorporates features of other tribes while retaining its traditional tribal characteristics.Headwear not only is part of the material culture in social life, but also carries implication of the human beings' spiritual culture. People's custom, aesthetic tastes, color preference and cultural mental status are all reflected in wardrobe, especially the headwear. As an indispensable part of social lives, headwear reflects the changes of politics, economy as well as people's cultural thinking and psychology of aesthetics.
