Fromm Emotional Alienation Thought

As the representative of Freudist Marxism, Erich Fromm connects the method of Freud's spiritual analysis with Marx's theory of historical materialism, creatively opening another window of the existence of human being from the viewpoint of alienation of affection for us. Analyzing three forms of alienation of affection, such as the love of death, the evil narcissism and the intergrowth fornication, he opens out their meanings, cause and sublation on the background of World WarⅡ, and the sublation of modern capitalist society. Pointing out that'social filter'oppresses man's thinking and affection, and thus forms'social unconsciousness', Fromm adds that the'paradoxes of human existence'made alienation of affection possible, while the alienation of affection is the base of evil, the causing of human nature that make Nazi became true. For these reasons Fromm emphasizes the significance of"psychological transform", hoping that'the human love'and'the sane society'would carry out the sublation of alienation of affection.His thought has important meaning which forces us to reconsider the alienation of affection in the period of social transfer, get rid of the causes which make the alienation of affection, study how to ensure the psychological health of commonalty and carry out the harmonious society.Firstly, my Paper begins with the problem of affection of contemporary Chinese society, in the background of history of western philosophy, emphasizing the importance of researching for affection. Then, expounding what is alienation of affection, summarizing the base of real living and the theory'points of Fromm's thought about alienation of affection. Finally I try hard to piece together my own view on these thought, I hope it can reveal the meaning of sublation of alienation of affection in reality and promote the research of Marxist philosophy.
