| This paper deals with the Christian imagery in the 1940's Chinese novels by exploring the backgrounds, plots, characters of related works and the creation, writing motives and intellectual resources of concerned novelists. Focusing on three central writers in the 1940's, the discussion is composed of three major parts, more specially, three major types of Christian imagery. Based on the dicussion, I try to expand the study to include more writers and their works involving Christian imagery and then chances are my possible contribution to understand the relation of Christianity and Chinese modern literature and a reasonable evaluation of its role in the history of Chinese modern literature. |
