| The famous educatorЗанковЛеонидВладимировичbelieves that once teaching method acts on students' feelings,awareness and mental needs,it will be quite effective.In order to improve the level of foreign language teaching,the teachers must improve the ability of grasping students' learning English psychology.With the rising and development of humanism in 1960s',people pay more and more attention to the nonintellectual factor in language teaching.The humanism believes that education should aim at enhancing people's integrated development.To achieve this goal, perception and emotion should be united.However,in real teaching process people excessively emphasize the functions of brains' reason and perception and ignore the nonintellectual development. This results in emotional illiteracy and quite a lot of students' failure in English learning.This tendency shows as excessively emphasizing the perception factor in language learning and ignoring the nonintellectual impact on language learning.In recent years,more and more scholars transfer the researches' focal point of English teaching from how to teach to how to learn.They put emphasis on the researches on learners' language learning psychological process and philosophizing about the effect of emotional factors on English learning.If teachers do not pay attention to the building and exchange of emotions between teachers and students and do not pay attention to develop students' ability of acquiring emotional strategy,then many students will have various mental and emotional problems.Thus,their motivation and confidence of learning languages will be suppressed.How to help the students to adjust their minds and moods,fully cultivate their potentials and develop their healthy quality and personality,develop their acquisition of emotional strategy properly is one of the important subjects that English teachers have to face.I analyzed emotional factors' effects on teaching especially English teaching in details by documentation method,made a survey on the current situation of emotions' position in classroom teaching using questionnaires and made an explanation about emotional effects on teaching results from teachers and students' angles respectively.In my opinion,teachers and students are both the main bodies of emotions.The past "duck-filling" teaching method can't meet the modern students' and social needs any more.With the intensifying of emotional teaching researches,teachers should not only understand the effects of emotions on teaching theoretically but fully prepare teaching materials in teaching practice and adopt the corresponding emotional strategies for different students to improve teaching effects and students' integrated development.I discovered that most of students are not satisfied with the current English teaching through my questionnaires.The reasons are various:some of them are not interested in the teaching method in English classes so they don't like English learning.Some of them wouldn't like to make any efforts to the second foreign language learning,including refusing to take part in the oral practice with others and refusing to memorize the language signals and meanings,etc.On this basis,I put forward some teaching strategies and measures to develop positive emotions. |
