Qipao is a kind of Chinese traditional costume which manifests Eastern women's beauty. With the style of natural and simple, Qipao represents the subdued, impicit, confident and simple temperrament of Chinese. It owns unique spirital cultural meaning as a kind of costume which reflects Western women's charm. In the 20th century, beacause of the Western style and technology, Qipao changed its linear cutting method that used from the Qing Dynasty. Qipao not only maintained the tradional cultual meaning of China, but also absorbed amounts of Western concepts and skilles about clothes, and then produced modern Chinese Dress. One-piece Dress of West can be traced the history of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. It has a long history,lasting from the Mediveal period, the grandeur of Renaissance, the deluxeness of Baroque, the elegance of Luo cocoa and then the 19th century which highlights the female "s" curve. In the 20th century One-piece Dress ownd changeable charm because of diverse design and fashion. Different from Qipao, One-piece dress always persuits the beautuy of the body at all times. Qipao and One-piece Dress have their own features in material, structure, decoration and aesthetic culture, and show different beauty. In the development of politics, economy, culture, the two kinds of costumes have influnced each other .Qipao absorbes some featureas of One-piece Dress, and then developes modern Qipao which is more elegent and fashionable. The cultural background and connotation of Qipao also attract the world' attention. East-west cultural exchange not only promot the integration apparel, but also strengthen the mutual understanding between the nation.
