It is jut about three or five years ago when the term of Public Art started to gain its popularity. No matter in whichever form, public art is doomed to step onto the historic stage again, since it is the reasonable outcome of social development and natural demand of common people with elevated spiritual merits.While perfection is shadowed by the forthcoming termination, novel thing is driven to get thrived for its imperfection. I would feel extremely happy if the fledging public art could stagger along ahead just like a baby. Yet, I have found many issues worth attention and contemplation in my practice and research during the past years, For example, as art is the carrier and sublimed form of culture, while the advancing times put more expectations on art, wether we should have further understanding of "the relationship between people and art" or even "culture"; how to maintain the art level and public nature of public art in the process of art creation; how to considerate the phenomena of the laggard development of self-innovation spirit, sense of responsibility and public consciousness as art advances into industrialization times; how to carve out a stable and sound path for public art creation within the existing social mechanism; how to coordinate the relationship among artists, decision-makers and public. Besides, since the public art is just at the taking-off stage, how the artists in this circle cultivate professional moral and pursue self-improvement to provide necessary professional guarantee to the health growth of public art will be discussed in this article either.
