The study of trade names is a brand-new language subject with the development of commodity economy. It involves a good many of disciplinary fields such as semeiology, psychology and Consumer Behavior. Therefore, the study of trade names has the value of linguistics, economics and culturology.Trade names haven't been attached relevant attention to all along for a long time. But as an important ring in the strategies of commercial competition, the study and exploitation of trade names begin to receive people's attention with the rapid development of commodity economy. Prompt popularization of advanced technology makes enterprises gradually transfer the commodity competition from that of quality to that between trade names and packaging design with the functions of individuation and differential competition, which further deepens the study of trade names in the aspects of advertising, business science and linguistics. As a invisible asset, trade names implicate hign commercial value. Therefore, phenomena that good trade names replace corporation names are common occurances.Although both China and Korea are the countries of oriental culture, they have many discrepancies in the features and manifestations of trade names with the differences in the aspects of linguistic features, customs, thinking modes, values and aesthetic standards, etc. These different characteristics not only help people to know the present situation in which the different languages are used and the characteristics of language expression, but also help to show the different cultural features, thinking modes and the tendency of commercial development of two countries.This paper studies the comparison of lexical features of Sino-Korea trade names of beverage, alcohol and sweets. The paper contains five parts in which the first part expatiates on the definition, nomenclature, funtions and importance of trade names; the second part analysizes the comparison of phonetic features of Sino-Korea trade names; the third part deals with etymologic features and word-making features of Sino-Korea trade names; the fourth part compares literal features of Sino-Korea trade names and the last part studies the comparison of rhetorical features of Sino-Korea trade names.This paper draws such conclusion s follows,1. In terms of phonetic features, the trade names of two countries are mainly of less than pentasyllable. But the numbers of syllables of Korean trade names has an gradually increasing trend.2. In terms of etymologic features, Korean trade names have a more usage frequency of loan words than Chinese trade names. While in china pure loan words are merely used unless the foreign trade names are to be translated. In the trade names of two countries, English words tend to be more and more used.3. In terms of word-making, In Korea phonetic word-making is usually used while in china blending is.4. In terms of word using condition, both of countries mainly use domestic conventional words. But a variety of label modes such as English words, numbers and signs are mixed used in the trade names with the development of cultural exchange.5. In terms of rhetorics, because of the different linguistic features, Korean often employ the rhetorical devices such as direct description, method of metaphor, onomatopoeia and so on, while Chinese often employ direct description, method of metaphor, pun and so on.
