Struggle Between The "i" And "us"

Kong Jue, one flashing red star.Kong Jue was considered as one representative writers in the liberated areas, with his tireless efforts and creative performance; but then, because of his"life issues", he was removed from the rank of writers. Because of his "ugly action", the "pure" "leftists" did not want to refer to him; after the "leftist" line was corrected, the critics who emphasised the literature's "purity" showed indifferent to the literature closed with politics. In this way, Kong Jue disappeared from the people's vision.To the twenty-first century , we find that Kong Jue cann't be ignored when we recall the literature of liberated areas, even the literature of the PRC, with the vison of historic sympathy. As a intellectual from the areas governed by Kuomintang, he fulfilld the requirements of popularization,nationalization and politicization. Especially when other writers were stuck in trouble, his works access to the harvest in number, he became one representative writers in the liberated areas. Because he was influenced by "5·4" new literature movement, his works still showed a personal tendency after change. This made him a meaningful existence - he was different from Zhao Shuli,Ding Ling and He Qifang. From him, we can not only see how a full individual writer become a collective one step-by-step, but also see his struggle and confusion on this path.It became a trend in the liberated areas that intellectual writers from outside went to collective and public consciously, semi-consciously or passively, but there were few traces left in their works. Kong Jue not only left some works, but also gave us a key which led us approach the literature.In this paper, I attempt not to analyze literature in the liberated area and the Republic in a simple ideological view or simple body view, I want to analyse Kong Jue's works with historic sympathy, and make every effort to recover the field of literature of the war and the revolutionary, and show his struggle between personal and ideological writing from content and form. On this basis, I want to find out the value of his works, and discuss the relationship between literature and politics. At the same time, I want to see the spirit and characteristics of writers in the liberated areas and the Republic through the inspection of Kong Jue's works.
