As an important genre film, the Hong Kong horror film has experienced the origin,the development,the prosperity,the maturity and the new breakthrough in the past most century. Its origin and development reflect people's esthetic psychological demand regarding the terror and the supernatural phenomenon; simultaneously it has the extremely profound cultural origin. Plenty of source materials of the Chinese classical novels and ghost stories, the rules and entertainment spirit of the Western genre film, together profoundly affect the Hong Kong horror film. Under these multiple influences, the Hong Kong horror film formed some kinds of subgenres, and formed its native characteristic.The creators are the parents of the horror film. This article selects four different and representative horror film creators to analyze and try to cover the process and tendency of the Hong Kong horror film. Along with the time and taste of the populace changing, the Hong Kong horror film also experiences changes in narrative aspects: narrative environment, the narrative main body, the narrative subject and the narrative way .This article also attempts to describe it.The horror film is the most typical result of the Mass culture. Regarding mass culture's interactive characteristic, this article attempts to summarize the batch duplication, entertaining as well as the realistic metaphor about the Hong Kong horror film, and analyze the influence. At the same time, it is one of the starting points of this paper.Based on the Hong Kong horror film's historical and present situation and its characteristic, this article has also made some forecasts about the Hong Kong horror film, and discussed the enlightenment and instruction which possibly has to the mainland horror film creation.
