Leiju Dictionary was composed in the Insei Times in the following two forms, the original version and the revised version. As an important ancient dictionary, it covered all the main principles in using native Japanese to explain Chinese characters, and lay the foundation and assimilation for the norm of Chinese explained by the native Japanese. As for the method of studying this kind of assimilation of Chinese into Japanes, a best way is to make compare between the Chinese character and the native Japnese on the basis of studying the ancient dictionaries. Therefore, this thesis chooses one type in Chinese-Japanese assimilation, the assimilation of the Chinese character using"ã‚·"as a component. Through a detailed analysis, the thesis aims at figuring out the features of the assimilation. In the study, comparison is used as to compare the assimilated characters of the type mentioned before in the Tushu Version of the dictionary and the Guanzhi Version. From the comparison, the formatting process, the succession of the Japanese language and the assimilation of Chinese characters can be understood.The structural of the thesis is as follows:Part one mainly introduces the background information of the Leiju Dictionary as well as introducing the structure of the Tushu Version of the dictionary and the Guanzhi Version.Part two gives a detailed history of using native Japanese to explain Chinese characters. Besides, the previous study on this topic is analyzed.Part three manly discusses the three aspects of assimilating Chinese character with"ã‚·"by explaining in native Japanese, namely, same Japanese verses different Chinese characters, different Japanese verse the same Chinese characters, and the lexicology.Part four discusses the assimilations of Chinese characters with"ã‚·"by using Japanese to explain. It compares the assimilation in Tushu Version and the Guanzhi Version. Thus, the features of this assimilation are drown.The part includes the conclusion of the thesis and provides the problem to solve in the following researches.
