This article holds that the modern Chinese aesthetic was developed by the combination of the traditional Chinese aesthetic thought and the Western aesthetic thought, while its system is established and perfected in the inner debate of aesthetic. Western rational mode of discourse is further strengthened with the development of modern industry in western countries, the acceptance of this way of thinking and discarding the traditional discourse mean the process of modernization of the Chinese culture from spontaneity not consciousness. However, the reason why Chinese aesthetic is Chinese aesthetic was rooted in the unique way of thinking of Chinese aesthetic. This paper, by the combination of the definition and explanation of "beauty" between the traditional aesthetic in east and west and modern western aesthetic, analyze and make clear the general situation of "beauty"--the heart of the conversation between modern Chinese aesthetics and aesthetics to show that the most important value of the academic discussion lie in the conscious combination of eastern and western theory and that we should consider the modernization of the Chinese aesthetic problem in a collision between east and west culture, tradition and modernization ,which will be the most outstanding contribution that the modern Chinese aesthetic give to the world. The modernization of Chinese Aesthetics: On the one hand, the dialogue between tradition and modernization in China's own idea of aesthetic. on the other hand, the dialogue between the classical and the modern idea of the aesthetics in the west. Finally the disagreement discourse and differences of the modern scholar themselves This multi-level multi-perspective dialogue across time and space is developed in the process of the modern society of china; China's own history of modern aesthetics is no doubt a reflection or the guidance of the development of Chinese society. Now the aesthetic is experiencing the unprecedented challenges: Whether China's modern aesthetic system can accept or even give explanations to everything about the aesthetics? Whether or not China's modern aesthetics need a scientific system? How will we explain the dilemma about man and aesthetics itself at present after the hot debate of aesthetics? The heart of these problems aims directly at the core concepts of modern aesthetics - "beauty," What is beauty? Beauty is what? And why? The "beauty" appears as a concept ,as a rhetoric, as an ideal state of existence of the mode of discourse , and what is the subject?About what is "beauty", there are several aesthetic points of view such as a subjective theory, objective theory, unified theory of subject and object as well as the theory of value. In this article I will discuss something about the essence and other aspects of the "beauty" in modern Chinese aesthetics from the Liang-chao, Wang Guowei to the present, and comprehensively research this period including Chinese modern aesthetics by means of Phenomenology and dialectical research methods of historical materialism under the influence of the changes of the modern mode of discourse and the Eastward Transmission of Western science and its contribution to the world, and in this way reveal the inner process of the development of modern Chinese aesthetics over the past 100 hundred years.
