This thesis illustrates the origin of the theory of defects in K(?)vy(?)dar(?)a(Mirror of Poetry),written by Dandin,the Indian literary theorist,and its development in Sanskrit and Tibetan poetic theory.On that basis,it makes comments on the theory of defects in works and studies by Mongolian Lamas and experts,and affirms their creation or origination and their contribution to Mongolian literary theory.This thesis is consisted two parts except the introduction and conclusion.In the part of introduction,it gives a brief introduction of the theory of defects in K(?)vy(?)dar(?)a(Mirror of Poetry),written by Dandin.And it presents the works of Ancient Indian,Tibetan and Mongolian experts on the theory of defects,and summarizes the contemporary studies.It also explains the reasons of selecting the topic,the significance of studies,and the study approaches.In the first chapter,it gives a systematic study on the theory of defects in K(?)vy(?)dar(?)a(Mirror of Poetry),written by Dandin,namely,the reason,origin,and the development of that theory in Sanskrit poetic theory,and illustrates the development of the theory of defects in Tibet by the works of Agwanglobsangjamcu,the 5th Dalai Lama.In the second chapter,it compares the study and works composed by Songba-Khanboo Yishibaljor,Rabjamba Agwang-Tudan,and Khanqin-Khanboo Jimyangarboo with the 5th Dalai Lama's works.Also,it clarifies the Mongolian writers' creative theories and studies their ideas and viewpoints according to the contemporary literary theory.Finally,it confirms the contribution and position of Mongolian experts,who studied the theory of defects,in the study of Mongolian literary theory.
