This thesis counts and analyzes the strong momentum phonetic errors and phonetic defects in order to study the trend of Putonghua phonology and to make predictions of the change of PSC standardly observing PSC and speech materials in television media programs. The thesis observes speciflcly the Jiangsu Province PSC speech materials and test papers, finding that there are four strong momentun phonetic errors in Jiangsu Province PSC:(1) no distinction is made between the flat tongue and the raised tongue (especially the tongue-raised initials "zh", "ch" are pronounced as tongue-flat initials "z", "c");(2)the back-nasal finals "ing" ,"eng"are pronounced as front-nasal finals "in", "en";(3)the vowel "ou" is pronounced as single vowel; (4)the words which should be read in light tone are not read in light tone. There are two strong momentun phonetic defects in Jiangsu Province PSC: (1)the front nasal tail vowels are close to the back and the back nasal tail vowels (especially "ing")are close to the front; (2)the fall-rising tone at the sentence end and the word end has no complete course. The thesis also studies the speech materials in the central, northern, and southern television media programs, and takes their common phonetic errors and phonetic defects as the supplementary proof of Jiangsu Province PSC.It discovered that there are five differences or changes between the current status of development of Putonghua phonology and the PSC standard: (1)the closed-mouth zero initial consonant is usually read as the voice fricative v; (2)the front and the back nasal tail vowels (especially the four vowels of "in", "ing", "en", "eng") are in confusion; (3)the words in light tone are decreasing;(4)the words in variant pronunciation still occupies a ting space; (5)the falling-rising tone at the sentence end being not of a complete course has become a prevalent phenomenon. Finally, the thesis makes predictions of the trend of Putonghua phonology development and the change of PSC standard.
