A Literature Review On Slmultaneous Interpreting Studies In China Based On 16 Core Journals(1980-2014)

With literature research of 143 pape rs concerning SI published on 16 core journals, this paper describes and analyzes the state of SI studies in China from 1980 to 2014. A combination of qualitative and quan titative methods is adopted to analyze the development and trends as well as defects of SI studies in China.The author uses “sim ultaneous interpreting” as key words in CNKI to collect 143 articles concerning SI studies from 16 core journals. With analysis of the literature, the author of this paper cl assifies these articles from 1980 to 1999 to five them es: preliminary study on SI, SI skills an d strategies, SI quality and standards, SI teaching and training and SI profession. Preliminary study on SI is replaced by theoretical study on SI from 2000 to 2 014. In ad dition, research methods adopted by dom estic researchers studying SI are also analyzed in this paper.Through analysis of SI lite rature published over the past 35 years, the author hopes to present the developm ent and defects of domestic SI studies, so that future research can focus on the defects of SI studies in China.
