The two-capital region including Xi'an and Luoyang was the heartland of the Han Dynasty. The mural painting in tombs of Han Dynasty which have found in this region are numerous, rich in content, successive, and hold a leading position in the development of the mural painting in tombs of Han Dynasty all the time. Based on the previous studies, the author has divided the mural painting in tombs of Han Dynasty into three periods: The later Western Han Dynasty, The Xinmang to early Eastern Han Dynasty, The middle and later Eastern Han Dynasty, then analyze and conclude the topics, contents and layouts of each period comprehensively and systemically. Afterwards in this foundation,To make further analysis and comparison microscopically obout the mural painting in tombs of Han Dynasty in this region. Considering that there are much obvious difference in many aspects of the mural painting in tombs of Han Dynasty between Xi'an and Luoyang in this region. But from Xinmang to the middle and later Eastern Han Dynasty , The two-capital region present the more unified cultural appearance along with the enhancement of cultural exchange and cultural fusion in each place. Although the distribution range of the tomb murals was becoming larger and larger, the difference of the tomb murals in different locations was getting smaller and smaller. The tomb murals within the entire region show a strong consistency in various aspects. Then compared the mural painting in tombs of Han Dynasty in the two-capital region to the previous mortuary paintings and other regions in the same time, the results have reflected the obvious infections from the former to the latters. The mural painting in tombs of Han Dynasty in the two-capitals region had occupied a dominant position in the whole tomb murals' development in the Han Dynasty.In addition, this paper taking the social and historic conditions of Han Dynasty into consideration, Thorough summarized the deep-seated reasons why the Mural painting in tombs of Han Dynasty in The two-capital region hold a leading position in the development of the mural painting in tombs of Han Dynasty all the time. These reasons were that: The political and economic situation of Han Dynasty was basic conditions, the changes obout tomb shape and prosperity of the art of painting in Han Dynasty was necessary technical conditions, the people's social ideology and ideas of Han Dynasty was an inherent power. Finally, this paper sumed up the artistic achievements of these paintings from three areas: the subject matter and content, layout and composition, painting techniques. And thus concluded that they played an important role in the development of mural painting of tomb of Han Dynasty and painting arts of early stage, and exerted profound influence on the creation of later mural paintings of tomb .
