The Jin Dynasty tombs in northern Shanxi have not been systematically sorted out in the field of art history, especially as the tombs of the civilian class. This paper chooses the murals of Jin Dynasty tombs unearthed in northern Shanxi as the research object, carries on the image analysis from the construction and space of the tomb chamber to the drawing and decoration of the interior of the building, and makes a comprehensive study on the subject matter, image style, composition layout, style and techniques of the murals.Contrast with tomb murals unearthed in the middle and south of Shanxi at the same time, the unique features of the design and decoration of Jin Dynasty tombs in the north of Jin Dynasty are obtained, and the decorative art model of Jin Dynasty tombs in the north of Jin Dynasty is summarized. At the same time,it points out two incomplete problems about understanding and analysis of Jin Dynasty tombs in Shanxi Province under the usual thinking,as well as a pattern that is worth discussing in an archaeological report. This paper makes a formal analysis of the image elements and subject combinations appearing in Jin Dynasty tombs in northern Shanxi. The intuitive image reproduces the original historical situation at that time, that is,the multi-dimensional form under the social, political, cultural and artistic background. From the clothes and clothes of the characters, hairstyle accessories to hand-held devices, from furniture display to the style design of the house, are the daily scenes of the "miniature" real house. The discussion of this issue is conducive to our most real and representative social life at that time.On the one hand,it reflects people's "ritual behavior" and "survival activities".In the process of conquest, struggle and compromise, the influence of culture is quietly advancing in mutual recognition and acceptance, reference and integration. On the other hand,it also reflects the thinking of the ancestors of northern Shanxi on the philosophy of life which has perplexed people for a long time.Since they can not break the natural law of life, old age, sickness and death, they choose to accept it calmly,so they integrate the construction of the tomb into the imagination and vision of the world after death. This paper also tries to bring the northern Shanxi area,as the "boundary" between the Central Plains and ethnic minorities, farming civilization and nomadic culture, into the spatial and temporal relationship of Liao,Song and Jin Dynasties.Through the study of the mural art of tombs in this area,Then we can see the exchange and interaction of Hu and Han culture and art in the integrated pattern under the influence of multiple factors. It is also hoped that the author's research will contribute to the tomb art in this period.
