Xuchang Han Stone Reliefs And Related Issues Research,

The author is mainly to conduct the first and rounded sorting and analyses on tombs with relieves stone and collected relieves stone of Han Dynasty excavated in Xuchang in this thesis. And then the author will explore related issues.Chapter one brief description of the discovery and research of relieves stone tomb and relieves stone in xuchang.Chapter two is about the initial study on tombs with relieves stone of Han Dynasty in Xuchang. Based on the existing research findings, the author infers that tombs with relieves stone of Han Dynasty in Xuchang came into being approximately in the middle period of East Han Dynasty. Taking the advantage of current archeological data, the author classified tombs with relieves stone of Han Dynasty in Xuchang into three categories: multi-chamber tombs with masonry; dual-chamber tombs with masonry; and single-chamber tombs with masonry. In combination with the analyses on funeral objects, then the author classified tombs with relieves stone of Han Dynasty in Xuchang into two stages: (1) the late middle period of East Han Dynasty, and (2) the late period of East Han Dynasty.Chapter three is to about the initial study on relieves stone of Han Dynasty in Xuchang. Making using of geological date, the author solved the problem about the material of relieves stone of Han Dynasty in Xuchang. The author found that it includes blue stone and red stone. And then the structure and usage of relieves stone are analyzed; and the subjects of relieves stone are sorted out. In addition, According to carving skills, composition modes, and expression techniques of relieves stone, the artistic style of relieves stone of Han Dynasty in Xuchang is summarized. Based on these findings, through the comparison with relieves stone of other areas, the artistic style of relieves stone of Han Dynasty in Xuchang is revealed which deals with prominent subjects, emphasizes symmetry, and pays particular attention to the combination of subject pictures and decorative patterns.Chapter four is about the reasons of how the artistic style of relieves stone of Han Dynasty in Xuchang came into being.Through the comparative analyses, The author thinks that these causes can be attributed into the following two aspects:1. the artistic influence of relieves stone of Han Dynasty in Nanyang, and 2. the artistic influence of relieves stone of Han Dynasty in ShangQiu.Chapter five,general description and summary of the full text.
