| Vocal divertimento "Four seasons in Our Motherland" was a musical work of great influence in China during 1970s and 1980s.It was created jointly by famous composer Zheng Qiufeng and lyricist Qu Cong, and was sung by singer Deng Yun. The composing of this divertimento is a great attempt to create art ballad filled with Chinese national characteristics ballad by using western composition techniques. It is a true reflection of the china's social reality right after the smash of "the gang of four", which is innovative in those days, and this make it a a representative piece in the music history of New China."Four seasons in Our Motherland" is constituted by four sub-songs and an intermezzo, among which there are connections as well as contrast. It is the unifying motif that unite them to form one artwork. Since the founding of the PRC, there has been little vocal divertimento created, and the vocal divertimento concerts are few and far.The thesis consists of 3 parts,1st chapter briefly introduces the development of Chinese vocal music, especially the vocal divertimento after the founding of the PRC, probes the special creative background and new creative way, and takes this divertimento as example to analyze the resistance of developing in china. The main section of this thesis is the 2nd part which focuses on the artistic characteristics, separately from lyrics and music image and melody. And then by holding the rhythm, endurance of the treble, performance of the coloratura and varieties of sound, finally with my own singing experience to study the points of this divertimento.The last part is the overview of the integrity of the composition and structure, and a brief introduction of accompaniment. The exactly originality of this thesis is by analysis of the performance of Dengyun to present the points of singing this divertimento.In this paper, we will analyze the artistic characteristics and performing features of "Four seasons in Our Motherland", and reinterpreted this masterpiece filled with period feel and artistic appeal, and thus we can relearn and popularize it. |
