Jiang Wen is a very important and unique individual phenomenon in the chinese film history.With the same age as the sixth-generation film director, he was growing up in the film of the third generation, fourth generation and fifth generation film directors.After being the gorgeous actor the "Hibiscus Town", "Black Snow", "Red Sorghum," he suddenly became the genius director of "In The Heat Of The Sun"," Devils on the Doorstep "and" The Sun Also Rises, ", For the same historical subject matter, Jiang wen is different from the fourth generation of the conventional "realist" approach, as well as the fifth generation of the collective memory and grand narratives, only with his own memory and imagination completed the Cultural Revolution, the anti-Japanese historical era classics such as instinct, the subjectivity of film writing, but also forged their own categories of the Jiang wen's style film. For this reason, this thesis, by profound reading the text and the theme of this three films directed by Jiang Wen, to study the adaptation of the novel for the original strategy, analysis of their anti-conventional, post-modernist historical narrative, and finally infer "Jiang wen's three films most important feature is that he puts the new view of the history as 'History is not an objective existence, but a highly personal narrative of memory and imagination' into the Chinese films.This is my thesis's point of view.
