Many studies found that the older people showed many positive physical and psychological changes after participating in group activities. In this study, using empirical study approach to and find out the psychological statement when the retired elderly people participating in group activities. Initial items of the questionnaire were compiled according to theoretical analysis and interviews. According to the results of exploratory factor analysis of 116 subjects, modifying items. Adopting the modified one, choose 256 to determine the dimensions and items. Another 705 data were recruited to respond to the decided questionnaire. Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed that of the four-dimensional structure model is reasonable. Retiree Group Activity Engagement consisted of four dimensions. Internal consistency (Cronbach's a) of the four dimensions was from 0.728 to 0.861. Split-half reliability was from 0.747 to 0.818. The cumulative contribution rate of the four factors was 60.921 %. Confirmatory factor analysis results showed that the four factor structure fit well, better than the one-dimensional structures. The retiree group activity engagement has satisfactory psychometric characteristics.Retiree Group Activity Engagement consisted of four dimensions. Factor one named with "willingness", referring to an individual is willing to interact with other members of the group, owning a sense of belonging to this group. Factor two named as "a sense of meaning", means when the retirees participate in group activities, feeling a strong sense of meaning and pride of life. It has a strong sense of meaning; they will be willing to put them into the community participation. Factor three named as "vigor", means retirees participating in group activities to show vitality, with great energy, good physical and mental toughness. Factor four named as a "absorption" means retirees participating in activities, just to concentrate attention to their activities and forgetting all the other irrelevant things.On the one hand, this research develops an effective psychological measurement for the retirees participating in group activities; on the other hand, enriched the scope of "engagement".
