Learning engagement is a positive mentality that students show during the learning process,including a series of positive qualities such as creativity,resilience,and achievement motivation.It is an important indicator that can directly reflect the active and healthy psychological state of students' learning.Learning engagement can predict students' academic achievement.Teachers,parents,and schools can take appropriate strategies to solve problems and improve students' learning and development situation,promote their overall development,and improve the quality of education and teaching.In addition,a high level of learning engagement can maintain a good relationship between teachers and students,establish a harmonious companion relationship,and ultimately promote the development of students' mental health.Learning engagement is the expansion of work input in the field of learning.In order to establish the Middle School Students' Learning Engagement Questionnaire,the study chooses middle school students as the research object,and explores the connotation and structure of learning engagement.First of all,the study analyzed the domestic and foreign research literature deeply to master the present research situation of learning engagement.Secondly,the study formed the initial questionnaire for middle school students' learning engagement based on the analysis of the literature,the semi-structured interviews with 20 middle school students and 2 teachers combining open questionnaire survey,discussion and expert assessment.330 middle school students in Quzhou,Jiaxing were tested with initial questionnaire,and the effective data collected were analyzed by item and exploratory factor analysis.After the useless questions were deleted,a formal questionnaire of 24 items was initially formed.584 middle school students in Quzhou,Jiaxing,Jinhua were tested with formal questionnaire,the questionnaire's dimensions and structure were finally determined by confirmatory factor analysis,reliability and validity analysis.Finally,the formal questionnaire was used to analyze and research the status of 550 middle school students'learning engagement in Hangzhou,Ningbo and Suzhou,and discuss the differences between middle school students' learning engagement in demographic variables,we also discussed the relationship between middle school students' learning engagement and positive psychological capital.The results are listed as follow:(1)Middle School Students' learning engagement is a five-dimensional structure,which contains five factors named value recognition(6 items),learning dedication(5 items),learning vitality(6 items),learning preparation(4 items),learning absorption(3 items).The questionnaire contains 24 items.(2)The reliability and validity of the middle school students' learning engagement questionnaire is good,so it is an effective tool to measure learning engagement.The indexes are as follows:?2/df<3,GFI,CFI,AGFI,TLI,IFI are above 0.90,RMR and RMSEA<0.08.The coefficient of internal consistency of the questionnaire and each dimension was between 0.714 and 0.911,the questionnaire is stable and reliable.The correlation between each dimension was between 0.345 and 0.628,and the correlation between each dimension and the total questionnaire is between 0.681 and 0.835.the structure validity of the questionnaire is ideal,there was also a significant criterion-related validity.(3)According to the survey of middle school students' learning engagement,the result of learning engagement is not ideal;Some demography variables affect the level of middle school students' learning engagement.There are significant differences in the dimensions of learning engagement among students of different Grade,academic performance and school types,In contrast,There is no significant difference in learning engagement of middle students affecting gender and family location.(4)By the correlation analysis and regression analysis,we can get the conclusions:There is a significantly positive correlation between middle school students' learning engagement and positive psychological capital.The correlation between learning vitality and positive psychological capital is the highes.Positive psychological capital has a predictive positive effect on middle school students' learning engagement.
