Man To Own A New Shackles

This paper firstly discusses and analyses the theory of the western consumption alienation, which could make us have a basic understanding on the generally existing problem of consumption alienation, and summarize the value and limitation of the western theory of consumption alienation. Then, I generally introduce Marx's theory of alienated labor and commodity fetishism theory, through which I recognize what is consumption alienation, the relationship of labor alienation and commodity fetishism with it, thus, I could lay my finger on the root, the necessity and the harm of consumption alienation. Moreover, the paper points out that the positive role the consumption alienation plays in the economic growth is a surface phenomenon, however, in the long run, it is not conducive to the development of society. Finally, the paper expounds the relationship between production and consumption, labor alienation and consumption alienation, as well as the profound historical roots of both labor alienation and consumption alienation, through which I get that the approaches to sublate consumption alienation and the alienation of labor show the consistency, namely the approach is based on the development of the social productive forces, the elimination division, abolition of private property, finally we could achieve comprehensive and free development.
