Zhao Yuan is a scholar whose life experience is very rich and delicate. The unique and distinctive charm of her academic research is part of from her passion for life and learning, and the consciousness of introjecting her own life experience into the academic research. Considering her whole academic course from the eighties, we find that life and academic research are one in her. This character makes her research own a kind of warm breath of life and spirit. To Zhao Yuan, academic research is not only a search for knowledge, but a kind of exploration for life and the world. So her research not only enriches and fulfills her own life, but also provides a deep understanding of Chinese history and society. This article tries to hold the whole visage and main characters of her academic research by studying both her academic works and her essays, and setting her research on the background of the academic evolution of China. In fact, Zhao Yuan's academic research is a paradigm of academic research in the eighties, which has its special value in both academic history and history of thought. Its success still has important revelational efficacy even for today.
