Modern Korean Calligraphy Development Studies

Types of art will never keep constant, but will have new features, this is normal law of development for any things, art is of no exception.Therefore artistic creation can not just stay in the way of inheritance, contrarily, on the basis of following the rules of chirography, it should be more innovative with the most updated works of art which must show thecharacteristic of the times. Comparing with the traditional ones in ancient times, the KoreanCalligraphy and Arts appears with new changes in thoughts, and new features in formats as well. It changes from traditional way of purity and connotation, to be more direct viewing, which enriches the form of expression and concept of Calligraphy and Arts. This text mainly summarizes the development of Korean modern Calligraphy and Art. It is composed by 3 chapters, chapter 1 brifely introducts the Korean Calligraphy and Arts; Chapter 2 is about the typical schools and artists of Korean Calligraphy and Arts; Chapter 3 summarizes the state of development of international modern Calligraphy and Arts, which mainly focus on the description of features of Korean Calligraphy and Arts and typical artists. Despite influced by Chinese Calligraphy and Western aesthetical train of thoughts during its development, Korean Calligraphy and Arts forms its own systems of Calligraphy and Arts. Today, Korean Calligraphy and Arts plays its indispensable role in Eastern Calligraphy, along with Chinese Calligraphy and Japanese Calligraphy.
