Su Shi's Poetry And The Northern Song Dynasty Food Culture

Su shi was an official during Song ren zong,Song ying zong,Song shen zong,Song zhe zong,Song hui zong and experienced "hold office at court——outside the office——relegation " two cycles. He walked round the whole country, wrote almost 400 poetry concerning diet. The poem inclouding all kinds of food in song dynasty. It not only shown the different classes of dietary habits, reflected the flourishing of diet culture in northern song dynasty, but also promoted the development of the song dynasty poetry. But the current academic research about su shi diet poetry and northern diet culture is also divided to research. This paper will combine two parts, research the mutual influence and make up the separate between diet culture and literature. This paper will be divided three prats to expound.The first chapter has outlined the northern food culture and diet view of Su shi. The northern diet culture is the third summit in Chinese diet culture history. In northern song dynasty catering businese was very flourishing and growed professional and comprehensive food shops and many kind of foods. Cooking skills improved greatly. It provided the material preparation for the prosperity of the northern song dynasty diet culture. Scholars and officials were thrifty in front of delecious food.This habit rendered the northern diet culture to the healthy development. Su shi also had his own health and dietotherapy method.The second chapter has introduced diet raw material and textual researched the foods in Su shi's poetry. Su shi recorded many diet raw material and food and drinking, especially the popular diet in northern dynasty. This chapter will describe briefly the foods' sourse and manufacture.The third chapter has discussed the aesthetic pursuit and influence of Su shi's diet poetry.The diet poetry of Su shi is fresh,interesting,charismatic and attractive. It had highly life interest and aesthetic pursuit that mainly showed in three aspects:fresh and lively of natural beauty,like nature itself--highest quality of art,fresh ecological of conceptual beauty. It not only promoted the development of the song dynasty poetry,but also reflected the flourishing of diet culture in china.
