The relationship between Ming dynasty and Mongolia is an important part of the whole relationship among minorities in Ming dynasty. The tributary system between Ming dynasty and Mongolia, as a media for their intercourse, had reflected their relationship and the developing process of the Chinese nation. Through the comparison of the reasons, processes and results between the Tu-mu war and the Geng-xu war, we can have the cognition of the nature of the two wars. The Tu-mu war and the Geng-xu war are closely bound up the tributary system between Ming dynasty and Mongolia, the reason of the wars is that they didn't deal with the tributary correctly. If we put the two wars into the developing process of the tributary system, we can see the relationship of Ming dynasty and Mongolia being close, and we can get the conclusion that the farming culture and the nomadic culture were turning into integration.
