This essay is processed with a border government officer Wu Dui to illustrate the bilateral ties between The Ming Dynasty and Mongolia in late Jiajing and early Wanli period, I am trying to make an effort in order to have further description for relations of this period for each other.This essay is mainly divided into four sections. The first section introduces Wu Dui’lifetime, which includes his birth, his official career and his personal abilities. The second section describes the development and mutual policies between The Ming Dynasty and Mongolia from late Jiajing to early Wanli period, which provides a background on Wu Dui’s coming into power. The third section explains Wu Dui’s role played in relations between The Ming Dynasty and Mongolia, which is also the main part in this essay. It is more than nine years that Wu Dui is in the first-line of association between The Ming Dynasty and Mongolia, he participates and manages a set major events of the both sides, including three aspects:firstly, he implement the combination policy for frontier trade and tributary, as timely adjusting combination policy for trade and tributary, construction of side wall, increasing Di Tai, rewarding the credit and punishing the error, checking Tun Tian and pasture, selecting officials, blowing harmful behavior of left-wing Mongolia for policy of trade and tributary and infesting border behavior of right-wing Mongolia. Secondly, Wu Dui manage two tribes which is Shi tribe and Che tribe. Thirdly, Wu Dui stand in position of The Ming Dynasty that handle two events which are meeting Suo Nan Gyatso and crusading Oyrad. Wu Dui take rigid-flexible and economic policy that make moderate relationship continuing between The Ming Dynasty and Mongolia. The last part, It is simple evaluation of Wu Dui.
