| Yeh Wei-Lien (1937-) is the Chinese-American poet, translator and comparative literature scholar. He has a great achievement in researching of comparative literature. His famous theory of "the cultural pattern" had a great influence in comparative literature field. Yeh Wei-Lien doesn't focus on establishing a theory system, but endeavor to do the concrete problem research, this maybe because of his emphasis on comparative literature critic practices and his anti-culture's decision research position. However, if taking a thorough view of Yeh Wei-Lien's literature research process and his literature research articles, it is not difficult to find that, Taoist esthetics has an essential influence in his literature research and makes his research a system. The paper tries to elaborate on Taoist esthetics' appearing origin, position, practical presentations; significances and limits in Yeh Wei-Lien's research, in order to prove the Taoist esthetics'essential influence in his literature research completely.The paper is divided into five parts which deeply and completely illustrate the problem of the Taoist esthetics' influence on Yeh Wei-Lien's comparative literature research.
