Among the abundant pre-Qin classical works,Guanzi is a great book that talks more about business issues, and it's business ethic thoughts has attracted attention from scholars at home and abroad.Basing on business ethic thoughts,the main purpose of this paper is to find and reveal the economic, political and cultural roots of business ethic thoughts and essential content,and to explore its modern values.This can help unite ancient business ethic thoughts and reality.This first part of the paper analyses the political reasons, economic factors and cultural impact of Guanzi's business ethic thought.It's political reasons stress Dynasty Zhou's declining forces declining, and the wars between princes continued in order to compete for supremacy.It's economic factors emphasize the coexistence of multiple economic,and commerce and industry of Qi made great progress.It's cultural impact stresses that Jiangtaigong's conferring titles of nobility on Qi followed the local culture and advocated the utilitarian.The second part of this paper focuses on the main content of Guanzi's business ethic thought. As for moral evaluation and human nature of business activities, Guanzi recognizes the merchant's nature of "hunting for the profit by overwork",and it also affirms that commerce has its own economic value and moral rationality value and moral rationality basing on it.As for moral rules,Guanzi requires the businessman to be honest,"only obey the essence of the business can live on business. In the process of their exchanging,the businessman must be honest and fair,cannot cheat or swindle at any time,and puts forward the moral rules of "the rich merchant should not gather money by exploiting the poor"basing on this.Guanzi also criticizes the immoral businessman who snatch common people's things severely." waive the profit if breach the moral"asks the businessman to choose" moral "when "moral" is contradicted with "profit".The avtivity of pursuing interest can not go against the country's "moral". The businessman's motive of pursuing interest is acceptable,but in their economic performance they cannot abolish or sway out of the direction and controlling of morality.They must obey the rank system of enfeoffment and moral pricinple.As for market ethic,Guanzi affirms the fouction of market,and things it "Pricing standards of goods",so we can"Understand the social situation", "Promoting production "from it, and the society can be "profit arising from the harmony"by market exchange.The third part of this paper trys to discover the modern value and inspiration of Guanzi's business ethic thought.Guanzi asks the businessman to be honest,and primary moral rules of them is honesty and trust.In modern times,the economic is developing fast,but there are many unhonest conducts in the process of business activities. So we will draw lessons from honesty and trust of business ethic and carry forward it,and let it serve economic construction well.In addition,the fair thought of Guanzi's "the degree between rich and poor"has positive significance for abolishing the difference between the rich and the poor.It also contributes to building fair and just society.Guanzi's business ethic thought takes the country as standard and takes utilitarianism as its primary orientation.It's business ethic serve achieving the political goal of Qi's "Unifying".
