Known as an outstanding legendary novel, "Outlaws of the Marsh" has been studied on an academic depth, but there are still many areas unexplored. From the communication in the particular point of view, with the use of Western theories of communication, the author tried to describe general impact on Ming and Qing Dynasties from the spread of the causes, modes of transmission and communication, with the purpose to outline the overview of the impact of Ming and Qing Dynasties and to generalize the spread of saga novel in Qing and Ming Dynasties.Besides the introduction, the paper is divided into five chapters:In the first chapter, the causes of the widespread of "Water Margin" has been explained, including both external and internal factors. External causes were discussed in four branches. Firstly, the ruling class exerted double cultural policy on the spread of "Water Margin". Secondly, commodity economy developed so fast and the public sectors grew strongly. Thirdly, printing and printing industry grew strongly. Fourthly, the "Water Margin" elaborates four different facets for readers; Internal factors concluded beloved heroes from legend, the language arts of "Water Margin", different characteristics, and yet the history of the traditional areas.The second chapter mainly discussed the contents of Ming and Qing Dynasties. "Water Margin" was spread in multiple versions in Ming and Qing Dynasties. This reflects the original impetus for the novel derived from the lower classes.
