The lexical chunk theory is a common topic of foreign language scholars in recent years, the domestic will also increasingly be taken seriously, especially in the English as a second language acquisition research. Noam Chomsky once have has said that any scientific theory of language, must have been to explain universally, so Chinese language study, especially the Chinese as a second language acquisition studies have tried to develop the lexical chunk theory to support the Chinese language learning and teaching.This paper is mainly based on the previous studies, to be used part of Beijing Language and Culture University of HSK Advanced Dynamic Composition corpus essay as a sample to study, carried out by describing the corpus of the language learner's writing, come to the results that there are some correlation between the learner's proficiency and the lexical chunk, also we discussed the reasons. Any scientific research is to given the practical some theories to support or provide some helps, so this paper provides some suggestions to language teaching and learning of Chinese based on the study.This paper was composed by six chapters:the first chapter is the introduction part of the paper, focusing on the research background of this thesis, research purpose, research questions and the importance of the research, in this chapter we know the concept "the lexical chunk"; the second chapter is the literature review part of the paper, in this chapter we have had a detailed description of the lexical chunk definition, the lexical chunk function, the lexical chunk division of standards, and domestic and foreign scholars' research situation about the lexical chunk, also from a psychological point of view of the importance of lexical chunk; the third chapter is the research design, which mainly describes the source corpus, corpus selection criteria, corpus analysis and problem to be solved in this study, among them, corpus analysis is the focus; the fourth chapter is based on the previous chapter, the main work is done by Excel2003 data analysis software; the fifth chapter is based on the fourth chapter, in this chapter, we have some implications and recommendations on teaching Chinese as second language; the sixth chapter is a summary of this study and further research direction.
