As a scholar in Eastern Han Dynasty, YingShao who was the literature and the expert to the name and description of a thing, had a far-reaching influence on these fields. He was erudite and wrote a lot of books, such as Feng Su Tong Yi,Han Guan Yi,Han Shu Yin Yi,etc. The content of these books involved history, official position, customs, rituals and cognomen, etc. Feng Su Tong Yi was the earliest record of the customs in ancient China. Han Guan Yi had comprehensive description of the Han dynasty official and etiquette system.Han Shu Yin Yi not only provided valuable materials for us to study Han-Shu, but also had high value of the exegesis. These document literatures were widespread, cited by many later books, and provided much rare material for our research on Han-Dynasty society. This paper will be divided into three parts:The first part: the Confucian official extraction of YingShao, his life and cultural complex. YingShao's ancestors were all the Confucian scholars, and were famous for culture, virtue and filial piety. As people in power, they were incorruptible and unselfish. His father was the prefect of Wu-Ling and Si Li Jiao Wei, founded school, publicized education, had written many books, such as Han Shu Hou Xu, Gan Sao, Han Shi, Dong Xu,etc. But these books were already all lost. YingShao lived in the end of the Eastern Han dynasty, confucianism education and family gave him a profound influence and made him have a strong traditional culture complex. Facing the destruction of traditional culture in the social unrest, the traditional culture complex was particularly strong. Then he believed that he had the responsibility to save the culture, so he created a series of writings while he did the officer. He wished that his efforts could maintain the feudal order, consolidate the Han etiquette and make traditional culture spread down from generation to generation and carry forward in the distant future. The second part: textual research of YingShao's writings. YingShao's writings were nearly ten, but these writings were gradually lost in the spread process, had not been well preserved. Among them, We now see Feng Su Tong Yi,Han Guan Yi and Han Shu Yin Yi.These books are all incomplete, and some of partials were sought and collected from the later literature works, and Han Shu Yin Yi was attached to Han Shu.On the basis of predecessors' research , this part mainly treatises the three kinds of literature works, the present situation of spread, the major versions, the purpose of writing, the evaluations of successive dynasties, the title of Han Guan Yi and the comparison of Han Guan Yi with the tables and chronicles of Han Shu and Hou Han Shu, etc. According to relevant information, YingShao also wrote Han Guan Zhu, Zhong Han Ji Xu, Bo Yi,Thirteen States, Di Li Feng Su Ji, etc. These literature works were different of content and style, but now, all lost. The third part: the literature value of YingShao's writings. From the historical value, exegesis value and literature value, the part will study YingShao's writings. In the historical value, the study of the Han dynasty court system, history, official rituals, social customs and geographical development needs YingShao's writings for reference. The later generation scholars annotated Shi Ji, Han Shu, Hou Han Shu, Xu Han Shu, they also cited much YingShao's words. YingShao first recorded that the author of The Dialect is YangXiong ,saved precious materials of the lost ancient book. YingShao also wrote the first important custom monographs in the history of the custom science, collectd rich content of custom. Exegesis value is mainly manifested on Han-Shu Yin Yi,the book made the outstanding contributions in the exegesis, including method, terms, content and influence in the exegesis, it is powerful evidence for thriving exegesis in Han Dynasty. By Feng Su Tong Yi primarily ,the literary value mainly were: the rich themes, the popular terse language description, etc.As the successor of Han culture, YingShao was particularly meritorious. With his meticulous and serious scholarship he left valuable wealth for later generations. His unique contribution was that in his writings he focused on social etiquette and custom to make the custom before Han and Han dynasty be neat, standard and continuing. It can be said that YingShao's writings were outstanding in history of custom in ancient China, especially the early feudal society.
