At the age of Liu and Song, Bao Zhao as one of the "three masters of Yuan Jia", his unique personality and excellent writing style does affect a whole generation of poetry style. Especially his folk poems, occupies an extraordinary important position in the Northern and Southern Dynasties and even the history of literature. Bao Zhao's folk poems had created a style that is different from the trend at that time either from the content, form, or ideology. His poems as well as himself were in a special way which is custom-based while suit both refined and popular tastes. And this particular style of poetry, the way to create are not only closely related to the folk tradition and the background of northern and southern dynasties, but also linked to the characteristic and talent of Bao Zhao himself. This paper studies Bao Zhao's folk poetry from a cultural prospective, which will provide us with a new perspective and an open space. To study the relationship between Bao Zhao as well as his poetry, his creative activities and the folk culture, resulting from the large system of the entire history of folk literature, its origin, its development as well as later ones' impact on it, will help us have a deeper understanding of the contributions he made to the entire history of ancient Chinese literature and his position in it. Comprehensive survey, Bao Zhao and His Poetry had been through the rise and fall of refined and popular culture. This article is written to attempts to explore the origin, the profound meaning and the potential impact of Bao Zhao's folk poetry from a cultural perspective.The article consists of three parts:the introduction, the body and the conclusion.The introduction gives a total exposition of the issues of culture itself and folk culture from a cultural perspective, laying the rational foundation of the whole article's development.The body of the paper has three major chapters:The first chapter is about the cultural traditions and history this poetry phenomenon like Bao Zhao's has inherited. Bao Zhao's poetry style is a spiritual inheritance of Han Dynasty's Poetry. It reflects a positive and optimistic, energetic and unyielding cultural psychology, a tradition of lyric poetry and a perennial national spirit. Throughout the entire history of folk literature, we can easily see that such spiritual tradition and cultural attitude are to be passed on by generations and continuous ongoing.The second chapter specifically addresses the performance of Bao Zhao's folk poetry which suits both refined and popular tastes, its comparison with contemporary scholars as well as the reasons for such inquiry. Compared with contemporary scholars, Bao Zhao's folk poetry was in a way which suits both refined and popular tastes either from the content, form, or thoughts, which is not only closely related to folk poetry tradition and the poet's own talent but also work closely with the background of the northern and southern dynasties. And the regular features of the folk literature are the sources of the way Bao Zhao had taken.The third chapter pointed out the enlightenment of the way Bao Zhao had taken, the profound impact he made to later scholars and poems and the epic meaning of Bao Zhao himself. The creation of Bao Zhao's folk poetry played a pivotal role in the whole history of folk literature. He is a remedy to the gap which formed when folk literature passed by from the Han Wei Dynasty to Sui Tang Dynasty, which reflects his epic position.The epilogue sums up the viewpoints of the text once again, and concludes:Bao Zhao did create a custom-based way that suit both refined and popular tastes, which is closely related to traditional folk culture. Meanwhile, Bao Zhao is also a connecting hub pillar, a key character to make good for the gap of folk literature. His epic meaning cannot be underestimated. Cultural views provide us with a broader research perspective, and we need to continue to broaden our horizons to study deeper into Bao Zhao's folk poetry.
