The novel type about the gifted scholars and beauties'romances was an unique genre of fiction. These romances were prosperous in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty. They showed the writers'ideal love and marriage and consoled writers for despair and hardship by describing ramances.Idealized as a literary genre, romantic writers had shaped the image of a special group of women-Jiaren who are supposed to be talented and pretty. Their glory in appearance, talent and emotional was far beyond their predecessors, giving readers an unprecedented emotional experience. They had traditional women's good quality, but also went beyond the traditional temperament; they who had the characteristics of the age, were masters of the Ming and Qing periods'talented women who sublimated beauty; they had the courage to betray from the traditional Confucianism in action, but did not really mature in terms of ideology; they longed for the freedom of love and marriage and dared to scorn the traditional marriage model, but in the end they were still limited by the shackles of feudal code of ethics, but not out of the firm steps towards the modern.ChapterⅠbriefly describes the overview of Caizi-Jiaren novels, identifies the novels' concept and characteristics, summarizes its evolution. ChapterⅡdeeply explores characteristics of Jiaren from their life experience, character, appearance, talent and emotion. ChapterⅢresearches Jiaren's transcendence and regression from the perspective of traditional Chinese concepts. Jiaren went beyond the traditional in some ways. However, eventually achieved the same with the traditional female. ChapterⅣprobes into the cause of times of these novels. Social emancipation, the rise of women worship and the prosperity of women's writing in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty provided important practical materials for establishing the image of Jiaren. ChapterⅤresearches writers'creation psychology. Namely, they are the subjective factors for shaping Jiaren image. Jiaren image was the emotional and ideal sustenance of frustrated literatis in real life.
