.1932-1947 Huanglong Mountain Region Development

The Huanglong mountain Region among Hancheng county, Heyang county, Chengcheng county, Luochuan county and Yichuan county, etc, is an area in the common boundary among these counties. In the Republic of China, there were many bandits. Although the government attacked them many times, they still endangered the society. The government official Li Xiangjiu proposed that the government should recruit soldiers to reclaim the land in the region in 1932. The government accepted this proposal and made a plan. But the project failed because of the China's War of Resistance against Japan.In 1937, large quantities of refugees were pouring into Shaanxi province because of the war. In order to resettle the refugees, increase grains output and support the war, the government decided to establish the Huanglong farm in the region. Between 1937 and 1947, the organization of this farm changed some times. The farmers include the refugees, the indigene, the poor farmers who had no land and the ethnic Chinese returned from former Soviet Union. The administration of the farm worked out several regulations, distributed land and grain to the people.The agricultural acreage was increased and the economy was growing in Huanglong mountain region. But boundaries between the farm and the other counties were not clearly defined at that time, there were usually troubles. The decrease of the population in this region results from the leave refugees and the serious endemic. All these problems had a pernicious influence on the farm development. Through researching the development of Huanglong mountain region, we can find that both of the farming actions were carried out with the help of armed forces between 1932 and 1937. But the second farming action intended to build a county. The Huanglong farm is better than the other farms built in Shaanxi and other provinces in Chins, and it is of great significance to the area's development.
