Berlioz is one important composer, the music critic and the conductor in the Romanticism period in 1800's in France. He had a lifetime of frustrations and didn't have a fixed job. He only depended on writing the music criticism, creating the musical production and giving the concerts to make his poor living during all of his life. And almost each of his family members had died before him, just left him alonely. He struggled hardly in lifetime to make his music could be understood and appreciated by the commom people. However, no matter he was alive or died and even today, people have entirely different evaluation about his musical productions. The author thinks one important reason causes the result is people don't have the unified cognition on the deep connotation in his productions. In his main musical productions, the final endings are all bring to a close using the tragedy or single out tragedy. The main roles in the productions land themselves in the hell or sink into vice thoroughly, some of them even end with death. Therefore, in order to understand and comprehend Berlioz and his muscial productions deeply, the author plans to see through the appearance to get at the essence from Berlioz's tragic musical productions to analyse the tragic contemplation which contain in the productions. And then further seek the reasons result in the tragic feature—Berlioz's miserable life experiences, the effect of tragic sense and aesthetics, and the influence of human atmosphere and artistic temperament of music in the first half of the 19th century in France.
