The "Equator Principles" is A financial industry benchmark for determining, assessing and managing social & environmental risk in project financing. The Equator Principles make up the neglect and lack of evaluation criteria of the social responsibility. It is very important to the development of the bank. Currently, there are 68 commercial banks adopt the Equator Principles, their business throughout more than 100 countries, representing more than 85%the global project finance transaction volume. Therefore, undertaking social responsibility is the inevitable choice of commercial banks of China. Pass on October 27,2005 of the "Company Law" (revised) the first time clearly defines the company should undertake the social responsibility. As with all good things have flaws, the breakthrough of this legislation inevitably exists some flaws. This text in reference to foreign advanced experiences, combines the characteristics of our country market economy and judicatory environment, putting some superficial viewpoint of the commercial responsibility.There are over 30000 words in article, including five chapters. The first chapter introduces the basic theory of commercial banks responsibility. The second chapter introduces the main contents of the Equator Principles and the specific use. ChapterⅢandⅣ, compared the foreign commercial banks and commercial banks of China of social responsibility practice, and analysis the problems of social responsibility. Chapter five around the systems of commercial bank social responsibility, it revolved the balance of profit maximization and social responsibility, legislative oversight, corporate governance, the establishment of environmental tax system, and external oversight, and then put forward the suggestions.
