Mass incidents as a form of social conflict, is a social phenomenon .It is rooted in the real world, and it is a comprehensive reflection of political, economic, cultural and social contradictions and conflicts. Our country is being in social transition period now, when there are lots of social changes and contradictions, and a series of profound changes of People's economic life, social life and mental state have taken place, which result in a large number of mass incidents. Frequent occurrence of mass incidents draw widespread attention from society, and mass incidents become a hot spot of academic research. However, the confusion of definition of mass incidents, a general lack of adequate care of research theory, and other issues have become academic research weaknesses. In the first part of the article, I define the group of events in my views, and analyze mass incidents according to an analysis of the classification and characteristics. In the second part, I explain the causes of incidents from the era, economic and cultural psychology perspective. In the third part, starting from the definition of groups, I make a multi-angle analysis of group behavior, and a brief analysis of specific mass incidents principle. In the fourth part, I analyze the social function of mass incidents. In the fifth part, I make some comprehensive measures mass incidents, such as to improve the coordination mechanisms, to strengthen the role of the media, to strengthen and improve the rule of law and to build a harmonious cultural value.
