A Comparative Study Of Chinese Ideological And Political Education And Citizenship Education In Singapore And Its Enlightenment

Since the reform and opening up, China’s modernization has made great achievements. With the rapid development of the global economy and the abundance of material demand, the ideological moral and political ideas appear significant decline. The traditional ideological and political education work has begun to appear weak trend. Therefore, deepening the reform of ideological and political education has become an important problem which needs to be solved urgently in our country.Singaporean civic education is the national education work which has the similar attribute with our country’s ideological and political education. In this paper, through the unique comparative analysis between our country’s ideological and political education and Singaporean civic education, we get good experiences of Singaporean civic education in aspects of theory, goal, content and method. We also see that our country’s ideological and political education needs to improve the shortcomings in aspects of theory and practice. The purpose of this paper is to take full advantages of lessons for our country’s ideological and political education from Singaporean successful civic education in all sides and absorb and introduce the good experiences of Singaporean civic education through the comparison between two countries. Then we will improve our country’s ideological and political education and applied in the process of our reform in order to improve the effectiveness of ideological and political education. The meaning is to optimize the populace’s cultivation, maintain the social harmony and accelerate the process of modernization.
