Research On Disaster Social Work From The Perspective Of Social Gender

Our country is one of the countries that has high incidence of natural disasters in the world. Due to disasters variety, high frequency, wide distribution, large difference of regional disaster relief capacity and other characteristics of the affected areas tend to suffer heavy casualties and property losses, and causing severe shock to the disaster area people. Especially for women in the disaster areas, they are faced with natural disasters more showing fragility, easy to appear in, and after hazarding physiological health, psychological, resource acquisition, personal development and rights expression aspects of problems. From a gender perspective, and fully consider women needs assessment, give women the reasonable demands expression channels and opportunities to participate in social affairs is must establish the consciousness of in the disaster relief work, safeguard the rights and interests of women is the necessary way. But because of our country’s disaster relief management system of "top-down" management pattern of social gender consciousness, the lack of gender statistics, underestimate women in disaster problem such as the ability to play and contribution, unable to meet women in post-disaster needs often, go against female psychological reconstruction after a disaster and personal development. Based on gender issues in the modern disaster management, disaster social workers in its unique role in the disaster, the core ability and the professional essence attribute, have natural advantages in involved in disaster relief work. Since 2008, after the "5.12" wenchuan earthquake happened in 2008, in order to "win-win" for the professional mission of social workers rushed to the disaster area to carry out the work in the first time, before you fill the disaster social work practice is almost blank before the history, disaster social work in the field of theory and practice of the rapid development of the increasingly become a concern of the academic and social disaster relief forces. Through a lot of literature research and case analysis, this paper respectively from gender difference affected by the disaster, disaster management theory in our country, the gender issues in disaster social work advantage to solve the problem of gender analysis and gender perspective of disaster social work intervention means of research such as four parts, this paper expounds the disaster social work to promote gender equality and gender equity, realize the function and significance of the harmonious development of both sexes.
