Remarkable achievements have made in the area of The United States Food and Drug Administration during "progressive era", including the "Pure Food and Drug Law" and "Meat Inspection Law", two Food and Drug Supervision laws the United States Government promulgated for the first time in the history, of which the former one was called one of the most successful law in the history of the United States; at the same time, food and drug supervision and management Bureau(FDA) was established, marking the U.S. Food and drug supervision and management system a breakthrough, and it has become a mainstay of the food and drug regulatory system of United States ever since; In addition, food and drug supervision and management system also has made innovative progress in US history, for it first pioneered prior consultation system in US food and drug regulatory system.In addition to the era background reason and the trend of history reason, The "social driven force" reason also has played a huge role in American food and Drug Administration in US "progressive time", including some government departments and institutions layer, social organizations and social groups, a group of elite politics and other advanced social elite. They formed a united force which strongly promoted the US food and drug regulatory. Therefore, this paper adopted "food and drug safety supervision" as the breakthrough point and intended to reveal how the social driving force played the core and decisive role in food and drug safety supervision in the " progressive era ". Finally we hope that China can adopt some innovative idea in our food and drug supervision system.
