In the 21 st century, the Internet has made rapid development in our country, Network has become an important medium for communication, and the network information is playing an increasingly important role in the lives of our citizens. Along with the network information, rumors gradually prominent in society, causing the most serious impact on society.Internet rumor itself is an information dissemination, except that it includes some unreal factors.The study of rumors involves many aspects of society, such as moral, ethical and legal. As far as the law is concerned, the network rumors regulation involves at least the following categories of citizens important rights- privacy, reputation, the right to information and freedom of expression. Thus, in the case of the legal norms and principles, the considerable legal skills and management skills should be taken into account. Taking uncompromising way is easy to affect or infringement of citizens’ freedom of speech, because people would not dare to make a sound, which will directly affect the free development of the whole society’s thought.Taking a relaxed approach,however,will spread false information and false speech. resulting in social panic, and affecting social stability.Using the law to supervise internet rumors.In this article, I will pass the network rumors on careful research, proceed from the definition of rumor, analysis the background and causes of network rumors,and analyze the legal regulation of Overseas Research on Internet rumors,try to find a correct legal path to supervise network rumors.
