On Terrorism And Its Countermeasures

In recent years, with repeated violent terrorist activities happen, the word terrorism is more and more mentioned. These terrorist attacks lead to heavy casualties and material and financial damage. At one time, the people are covered under panic. At the beginning, we heard about the overseas violent terrorist attacks on news media, like TV. US 9.11 attack leads to more than 3000 people died. Russia Belslan hostage attack lead to more than 300 people died and more than 1000 people injured. The Paris violent attack leads to more than 130 people died and more than 300 people injured. Iraq Isis also implemented a series of hostage killing cases. Right now, there is a series of violent attacks in our country. Xinjiang 7.5 event result in more than 200 people died and more than 2000 people injured. Beijing “10.28” Jinshui bridge incident lead to 2 people died and more than 40 people injured. Kunming 3.01 event leads to 31 people died and more than 140 people injured. The violent terrorist activities begin to spread from Xinjiang to the mainland. Terrorist tend to s implement terrorist activities by selecting sensitive targets and places at sensitive time. For terrorism, there is seed in overseas, soil in the mainland, platform at the network and passageway at the border. Coupled with that violent terrorist activities has the features of violent, hidden and unexpected, if not timely find the stop, the activities and lead to a large number of causalities and property loss. Since we have no specialized anti-terrorism law, no clear definition for terrorism, this brings a lot of difficulties to anti-terrorism work system and penalty execution. It is quite difficult to provide effective law execution guarantee for the anti-terrorism work, not good to effectively promote the rule f law and the work of counter terrorism. In view of the counter-terrorism situation, China promulgated the “Anti Terrorism Law of People’s Republic of China” last year to provide strong guarantee for the flight from legal perspective. As a member of the police work at the basic level, it is my duty to study terrorism and actively respond to terrorism. The author explain the detailed definition of terrorism by combining actual work experience and at the end back to how to make application to the practical work. The author hopes to broaden the anti-terrorism ideas for the police through the study of this paper.
