Deluke, the world famous management master, once stated that innovation and marketing were the key functions of a modem business firm.Since the enforcement of 搊pen and reform?policy by our government, advanced managerial knowledge ( marketing concept is among the most important ones), together with advanced technology, have been introduced from abroad, and the pioneer adopters of the new concepts, such as Haier & Legend , have changed their way in business management and enhanced their competitive advantages. Consequently, Peter?statement aroused attention in China. More and more business firms come to believe that marketing do serve as a most powerful weapon to win the battle in today抯 severe competition.Shifang Network Security Ltd. under discussion is a typical hi-tech new establishment who center on the manufacture of a compact network security system called 揑ntrudet? The product protects the computer from internet hacking through real-time checking risk alarming security tracking and systematic learning & improving. Although there are not many competitors in this field, sales have been far from satisfying eversince the very beginning of the small company. The key problem lay before the company now is how to break through the marketing bottleneck and to have a quick expansion in market share.In order to help Shifang Network Security Ltd. to solve the problem and set up an example for other small hi-tech companies at the same time, the author put forward the following suggestions after a well-grounded study of Shifang?s marketing strategy ?including target market selection and market mix. application ?based on a serious market research and a sensible analysis on plenty of secondary data collected:1.To a small company at the early stage of its business, 'ingle target market approach?should be applied;2.In the course of marketing plan implementation, hi-tech companies should take value-added products into consideration because of their special role in market competition;3.揝kim pricing?may be a desirable method in certain circumstances;4.Direct channel is effective to newcomers in the market;5.Two-way-communication message channel should dominate the promotion plan.
