Timesharing is an innovation of hotel's operation. Since 1960s, it has developed rapidly all over the world. This scheme is a perfect combination of hotel industry, real estate industry and other related industries. Timesharing can create a lot of profits in many processes and bring us considerable positive effects. This maturing model has won great appreciation in the world hotel industry and can provide a new thinking of operation for China's hotel industry.At present time, hopeful market prospect and advantageous entrance opportunity have prepared a good background for timesharing in China. To analyze its theoretical mechanism and practical viability is the most important thing to do now. Although there are only a few works about timesharing, especially the statistics data about its origination and development, which make the research very difficult, yet at the same time, it also means the research is very necessary.The thesis is divided into five parts. In the first part, the thesis gives a summary of the progress made so far in the research of timesharing. Then comes to the elucidation on the significance of the research, as well as the methodology. The second part gives a whole introduction for timesharing. The paper introduces its conception and development, constructing the theoretical foundation and operation mechanism. Part three is about market viability. Through questionnaire and interview, we can get some objective conclusions about the advantageous and disadvantageous factors of developing timesharing in China. Part four is analysis about two typical cases?Lin' an Qian Wang hotel and RCI group, sorting out some valuable experience. The last part is the emphasis and breakthrough point of this paper. Basing on the aforementioned foundations, the thesis sets forth two operation models and illustrates deeply the countermeasures about how to develop timesharing in China from macro and micro angles.
