Export credit is an international credit method that was brought about with the development of international trading. It is the medium or long-term credit method adopted by the government of the export country, by taking advantage of international and domestic resources and markets, giving interest subsidies and risk compensations to his exports, in order to encourage the exports of his country's goods, services, technio1ues even capitals and strengthen their international competing abilities. Each country want to realize the targets of keeping international balance of payment and accelerating economic growth, by promoting the development of his import-export trading and overseas economic activities. So they set up some special export credit mechanisms and formulate the uniform policies of export credit, then gradually form a completed set of export credit system. This acts positive role in promoting one country's development of foreign trade and adjustment of the industrial structure, and has important meaning to strengthen the country's international competing activities, increase employment, and accelerate economic growth.This thesis started with the history of export credit, special features of its professional works, the present situations of its management, and the tendency of its development, using the study method of comparison analysis, linking the theories with the working practice, is in order to analysis the problems existing in Chinese export credit system, then suggesting some countermeasures should to be adopted under present world economic environment, and make a deep inquiry into the importance of establishing and completing the Chinese export credit system.With the speedy development of Chinese market economy and the changes of external economic environment when we are about to join the WTO, we must take part in the international economic activities and open up the international market according to the international practice. Under these situations, foreign trade combined with the political financial measures, especially the officially supported export credits, are the general international practice.
